From the Windows XP secrets
Today I show you a great thing. Many times systems' administrators have rebuilt a system Windows XP, without even know this setting. Normally in "Device Manager / View / Show hidden devices" are seen these hidden devices only at the surface of the system. The system keeps any information and drivers about any hard, ipod, stick, photo camera, monitor, video camera, usb device or any other such device that was ever attached to the computer. Due to this fact, appear frequently errors on the system due to incompatibilities or drivers multitude of such device - The following settings help us to see these hidden devices and remove them: "START/Run/cmd" click OK or Enter write exactly: set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 now click Enter and then write exactly: devmgmt.msc click Enter Only in this way you can see in "Device Manger / View / Show hidden devices" those hidden devices. Generally you will search in: Disk drives Monitors (sometimes) Storage volumes Universal Serial Bus contoller The hidden devices will appear with transparent, flat icons. Now, you simply uninstal them. |
